Where Do We Go From Here? Part II

As I wrote in my last entry, “Where Do We Go From Here?“, I believe that we are missing a strategy.  A strategy allows one to produce detailed plans of attack and then provides input into when to coordinate various plans and in what order to execute them to achieve optimal effect.

Constitutional Conservatives, aka NOT RINOs and not necessarily Republicans, have been waging a defensive holding action for the last 40-50 years.  Actually, I would argue we have been on the defensive since the New Deal.  This has caused us to consider the act of stopping or slowing the communists/nazis (liberals/progressives) to be victories.  This could not be further from the truth.  A victory is one in which ground is taken back from the enemy.  A successful defense is a stalemate.

We have not taken significant ground back from the enemy in a very long time.  The most recent “conservative” president, Bush II, actually established a new government agency that is rapidly becoming a national, militarized police force with armored vehicles and massive stockpiles of ammunition and weapons.  I could elaborate further on the failures of the last several “conservatives”, such as Reagan’s debt spending orgy and Bush I’s New World Order, Nixon’s EPA and normalization of relations with China, etc. but I won’t……

Instead I would like to propose several potential strategic goals and start thinking about which to take on first.  I’ll organize these into packages:

  1. Constitutional Liberties Package
  • Balance the budget
  • Abolish the DHS
  • Reduce United Nations funding to the minimum level required to retain an ambassador there and ask them to leave the United States
  • Re-privatize the TSA
  • Eliminate the IRS and establish a flat tax
  • Reign in the NSA. CIA and DIA inside the United States
  • Strengthen Posse Comitatus, especially as it relates to information gathering and usage of drones
  • Sell the DHS stockpiles of ammunition via the Civillian Marksmanship Program
  • Prosecute State and local governments that are abridging the Second Amendment
  • Abolish the BATFE and turn its legitimate enforcement activities over to the U.S. Marshal’s Service
  • Abolish the BATFE’s Form 4473 (federal form for purchasing a firearm aka backdoor registration)
  • Mandate the destruction of all existing form 4473s in the possession of Federal Firearms Licensees and those in the possession of any federal or state government
  • Officially remove the political muzzle from churches and other tax-exempt organizations
  • Revoke FAA permission for local law enforcement to use drones
  • Revoke FAA permission for federal law enforcement to use drones
  • Pass legislation defining the proper use of the “Interstate Commerce Clause” and possibly an Amendment to the Constitution to clarify it.

2.   “Great Society” Deforms Package

  • Balance the budget
  • Provide federal funds to States for requiring legitimate State identification for voting purposes
  • Withhold federal funding for all States that provide a State ID that can be used for voting to illegal aliens.
  • Eliminate the Department of Education
  • Eliminate Obamacare and reign in Medicare and Medicaid
  • Eliminate the Corporation for Public Broadcasting
  • Eliminate the Department of Transportation
  • Eliminate much of the FDA and create a not-for-profit entity to establish guidelines for the testing of drugs and food products to ensure safety.

3. Bare Essentials Package

  • Balance the budget
  • Abolish the DHS and re-privatize the TSA
  • Eliminate the Department of Education
  • Eliminate the Corporation for Public Broadcasting
  • Sell the DHS stockpiles of ammunition via the Civillian Marksmanship Program
  • Reign in the NSA. CIA and DIA inside the United States
  • Strengthen Posse Comitatus, especially as it relates to information gathering and usage of drones
  • Revoke FAA permission for local law enforcement to use drones
  • Revoke FAA permission for federal law enforcement to use drones
  • Eliminate Obamacare and reign in Medicare and Medicaid
  • Reign in the BATFE and cut 30% of jobs there in enforcement arms that ran Fast and Furious
  • Restrict the Federal Reserve’s printing authority

The Bare Essentials package has the most popularity with the general public, in my opinion.  Perhaps the strategy should include everything I have listed and more but the first set of initiatives should be the Bare Essentials.  These changes would make an immediate impact on the lives of Americans and every one of them would be good.

Conservatives have a significantly enhanced ability to communicate to the average American right now.  Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, social media and such have given us an alternative stream to get our ideas out there.  More importantly, they provide us with an ability to educate Americans without filters but with plenty of debate.  We should pick a list of initiatives and start educating folks about them.  The process may take several years but the result will be worth the effort.

I may be off on some of the areas listed above but the message I am trying to send is this: If we continue to play defense we are going to continue to lose.  Our children will pay for our lack of motivation and our lack of ability to make an impact.  They are already paying for our losses to-date and I don’t want to be a part of making their burden any heavier than it already is.
